🍏🐻Apple&Bears🐻🍎 Skincare

Apple & Bears is a British owned luxury skincare brand that really looks and feels like the kind of products you would find in a five star hotel bathroom……that you would later steal and pack in your suitcase for the flight home. Stealing aside, these products are some of the nicest bodycare products I’ve tired in awhile.

SAM_3946

First up and probably what they’re most known for is their Body Silk which is a body moisturizer. The reason why they’re called Body Silks is because they have an incredible silky texture to them as a cream and then once they sink into the skin they make it feel like silk. This has honestly been the nicest body moisturizer I’ve used this year and my only real issue is the fact that the bottle is sooooo tiny! That said this is a travel size and you can get big 250ml bottles should you so choose but even as a travel size I find it a bit minimal because this is something you use all over you’re body. It should be 100mls in size in my opinion. The scent of this Body Silk is Grapefruit and Seaweed but you can get other scents too. [Price: 6 pounds/7 euros approx.]

SAM_3947

Their Body Wash is even nicer than the Body Silk. It has almost an oil like consistence to it, meaning you don’t need alot to get an amazing lather. The small bottle in this case would last you quite a long time and like the Body Silk you can get a larger size from their website. I have to say my favourite thing about this body wash was the scent, absolute bliss and amazingly luxurious. I honestly could not recommend this enough. [Price: 5 pounds/6 euros approx.]

I’ve added the Apple & Bears website below in the case any of you are going on holidays and need some nice body products to take with you. I absolutely love this brand and it’s products and think they would make a nice treat to oneself.

Gioventu Natural Vitamin E Oil

One thing I absolutely love doing with my blog is introducing new brands to my readers and for today’s blog post I have the new skincare brand Gioventu Cosmetics to talk about. Gioventu Cosmetics is a 100% natural and cruelty free brand that is currently in it’s start up stages. I was lucky enough to be sent one of their all natural Vitamin E Oils to try out and why not let you guys know what I think.

SAM_3847

Vitamin E, when used in skincare is well known to improve the appearance of fine wrinkles and make the skin super soft. The fact that this product is an oil means that it’s super concentrated, which is why you only get 15 mls of product in the squeezy bottle packaging. I honestly cannot complain about the amount either because it only retails for 2.99 pounds (3.50 euros approx.) and so it’s one of the most inexpensive skincare product I think I’ve ever featured on my blog.

SAM_3848

The texture of this oil is really lovely. It feels nice and light on the skin and absorbs almost instantly without leaving any greasy residue behind. You can use this oil on it’s own by simply dispensing 3-4 drops in your hands and massaging it all over the face or you can do what I do which is mix it in with either your day or night moisturizer basically converting it into a beauty booster product.

I honestly cannot get enough of this oil since receiving it as it has made my skin look so smooth. I’ve added a link to the Gioventu Cosmetics website below and a link to the Vitamin E Oil as well in case any of you want to find out more about this product or even pick it up for yourselves.

Clarins KISS Lipbalm

So it’s been about a minute since I last blogged anything on this website and the reason for this is because I was away on holidays. Most of the blog posts that were posts were pre-scheduled as I knew I wouldn’t really have access to internet while I was away. That said I’m back now and ready to get back into the swing of things with some new blog posts. Any requests leave them in the comments below.

SAM_3564

With me being on holidays in the very hot country that is Lebanon, I ended up suffering from very dehydrated lips. My saviour as always came from the incredible brand that is Clarins Skincare. It’s very typical of me whenever I have something bothering my lips to head straight for the Clarins counter because I know their products work. Their Lip Oil is one of my favourite product ever and would have worked wonders had I remembered to pack it.

SAM_3565

Instead of purchasing something I already knew I had back home I decided to take a chance and picked up their new KISS Lipbalm. This come in a cardboard tube with very cute and fun loveheart and kisses popped all over it. The lipbalm itself is amazingly hydrating and develops a slight pink tint as it reacts to the pH of the lips.

At only 14 euros a price tag I highly recommend this for anyone thinking of a new purchase from Clarins or even just needing a new lipbalm. It’s honestly the only thing that saved my lips over the summer. I also managed to pick up all three of their new Instant Light Lip Perfectors which I shall have a review of soon enough so stay tuned!

Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream

Biggest downfall of this product is it is not cheap 😥 but boy is it good!!!!. I got this about 2 months ago and its a mini travel size version (30ml) of the full thing which I think sells in both a 50ml size and a 70ml size. Now the cost of this product is, and I dare say it, 17 euros which is pretty pricey for a 30ml hand cream. However it is amazing and I’m going to tell you why 🙂

SAM_3465

Let’s start of with how cute the packaging is. This bottle is so small it literally fits into the palm of my hand. I love the plain white container, gives it a very classy look and the gold band around the lid adds a touch of expense to the products packaging. When I first opened this to try it, it was the smell that drew me. It smells like oranges and omg! does it smell good. Now I’m not normally a girl for fruit smelling things but this smell is so light and soft that its just irresistible.

The cream itself comes out white with a light orange hue from the tube. It applies beautiful even across the hands and doesn’t leave any greasy residue that you get with Lanolin based hand creams. Its fast absorbing, I found myself able to go about the house and touch things in a matter of seconds after applying the cream to my hands rather than having to wait a good five minutes for the cream to dry.

SAM_3467

Its especially useful for the summer months of the year when the weather is especially hot and the skin on the hands are the first thing to become dehydrated. So dry hands beware with this stuff cause it’s very hydrating and gives a sort of plumping effect to the palms and back of the hands when applied.

All in all this is a good hand cream to have. People who don’t like the smell of oranges may not like it as much as I have but if your looking for a good hand cream than this is a guaranteed product. I know the price is super pricey but like I said I’ve had it for 2 months now and I’m only half way through the tube so it does last a while if your up for the splurge. Will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out 🙂

#PamperWeekend: Nakin Skincare

This is going to be part eight and the last post of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

For todays post I’m going to be focusing on the skincare brand Nakin which is a natural anti-aging brand that is great for those of us who are looking for a bit more from their skincare but don’t want the commitment of using those super expensive and very thick creams.

SAM_3376

From the Nakin Skincare range I have both their Performance Face Serum and their Eye Complex and both of these in my opinion are great products. The serum, if I was to compare it to some of my other serums such as the Clarins HydraSmooth and the HollyBerry Hyaluronic Serum, wouldn’t be considered my favourite but that’s not to say this isn’t a good serum because it is.

SAM_3377

It’s probably obvious from the images that the consistency of this serum is that of a cream. It is super lightweight and absorbs almost instantly into the skin. If you do massage this in with your fingertips, especially using upward motions, it does give of a bit of a milky texture making it even more luxurious feeling on the skin.

SAM_3380

The packaging of it, as with the corresponding eye cream, is basic and simple-almost clean looking to a point. I like that it has a pump applicator, and that one pump is more than sufficient to use across the entire face (pump and a half for both the face and neck). Scent wise it’s very organic with a slight floral undertone to the cream but it definitely isn’t offensive and it goes away the minute it’s absorbed into the skin.

SAM_3440

I have to say if I had to choose between the two Nakin Skincare products that I have on which one I like better, it would have to be the eye complex. I have started using this instead of my Environ Youth Essential Eye Gel and to be honest I think I like this better than that one.

SAM_3374

It doesn’t have any of the stickiness/tacky residue that the Environ one did and I also found this one absorbed much quicker than that one too. I didn’t however experience any cooling effect with this one like I do with the Environ but I say if I put in the effort and actually bothered to pop this into the fridge than that issue would be sorted (the environ one comes in a metal tube which is why it’s always cold without a fridge).

SAM_3375

With regards to fine lines and my dark circles, I did feel that they were pushed back and have become less noticeable by using this. For future use I probably will keep this as my morning eye cream because it’s lighter and quicker to absorb into the skin and the Environ one for the evening.

All of the Nakin Skincare products are available to purchase from their website which I have linked below in case any of you are interested 🙂

#PamperWeekend: Hollyberry Skincare

This is going to be part seven of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

SAM_3408

Today’s post features some amazing products from the brand HollyBerry which is a cruelty free family owned skincare brand. It focuses on using ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid to promote flawless skin. The first product I actually have to show you guys from them is their Hyaluronic acid and vitamin C serum.

SAM_3414

This serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pipette/dropper style dispenser to it. Texture wise I absolutely love this serum as it’s nice and light and unlike most serums it doesn’t create a tacky finish after it’s applied. The bottle is also dark glass which delights me as it’s well known that Vitamin C degrades with light.

SAM_3417

It is recommended that this serum be used both morning and night however I have been using it basically anytime I’ve felt that my skin needs a shot of hydration. I always follow up afterwards with a moisturiser and have been using my L’oreal HydraBoost which I featured in my last #PamperWeekend post.

SAM_3410

I received the Hollyberry Clay Mask which I didn’t like as much as the serum if I’m honest. This product only uses one ingredient and I personally found that it didn’t really do much for my skin. The way this mask is used is that you mix a small amount of it either with water or a serum that is very liquid based.

SAM_3412

It goes on very wet  and as it dries, it tends to go hard and tight which is great for giving you a temporary face lift but not anything else. I’ve been using this for roughly 3 weeks now, twice a week. It’s nice if your looking for something to pop on with girlfriends or just to relax but if your looking for benefits when it comes to your masks than I don’t recommend this.

All of these products can be purchases from the HollyBerry Website which I shall link below. The serum as far as I know costs 12 pounds which is roughly 14 euros and the mask is roughly the same.

#PamperWeekend: L’oreal Hydra Genius Moisturiser

This is going to be part six of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

I hope everyone has been enjoying my new series so far but you can probably tell from it that I haven’t been having the best of luck with skincare in terms of moisturiser. Both the Urban Veda Purifying Moisturiser and the Environ Avst 1 Moisturiser were too thick for my skin and felt very greasy.

SAM_3309

Recently while browsing the many aisles of Boots, I noticed that L’oreal Paris was after releasing a new moisturiser called Hydra Genius. Now this moisturiser has the words normal/combination skin so I thought it would be great to try out a moisturiser that was specifically designed for my skin type.

SAM_3310

It was probably the best idea I’d ever had as I absolutely love this moisturiser and the way it feels on my skin. The packaging of it is this super sleek and very elegant glass bottle that has a pump dispenser to it. The colour of it is this lovely turquoise blue that is very eye-catching and looks super pretty on ones vanity.

SAM_3313

The texture of this moisturiser is more of a gel than a cream. It uses Aloe Vera Water as it’s main ingredient so you can imagine how cooling and hydrating it is on the skin. You can use this moisturiser both morning and night but I personally have been using it at night instead of the Urban Veda one. The main reason for this is that it does have a slightly tacky feel to it once it dries down which I find really bothersome throughout the day. Asleep I honestly don’t care how it feels as long as there’s no residue in the morning and with this moisturiser there isn’t.

SAM_3315

I highly recommend this moisturiser not just for normal/combo skin but for those who have both dry and oily skin as its so light and refreshing I think it would work for both. Price wise it’s mid range coming in at around 13 euros however I got it with it’s introductory price of 8.49 euros.
