This Is More-Holos Serum

A couple of months ago I won a little giveaway on Twitter and the prize was a little gem from the brand Holos Skincare which is an organic and natural Irish skincare brand. The product that I won was their This Is More Face & Eye Serum and since getting it in my mail box I have been using every single day that I’ve been feeling any dryness in my skin because the main ingredient in this is Hyaluronic Acid which we all know is amazing for re-hydrating the skin.

SAM_4212

I have to say everything about this product is spot on for me. I love the packaging, the smell of it (It smells so so good!) , the texture of it and the way it feels on my skin. I find it like a mask of cooling water when applied and my skin instantly feels plumper and looks more hydrated.

SAM_4213

I should also point out that you really don’t need alot of this product to get it applied to the entire face. I’ve had this for roughly 6  months know and I’m only a third through it. It comes with a dropper tool as it’s applicator and I found two-three drops roughly it more than enough.

The serum is available to purchase from the Holos Skin website which I shall link below (not affiliated) and retails for 42 euros

#PamperWeekend: Nakin Skincare

This is going to be part eight and the last post of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

For todays post I’m going to be focusing on the skincare brand Nakin which is a natural anti-aging brand that is great for those of us who are looking for a bit more from their skincare but don’t want the commitment of using those super expensive and very thick creams.

SAM_3376

From the Nakin Skincare range I have both their Performance Face Serum and their Eye Complex and both of these in my opinion are great products. The serum, if I was to compare it to some of my other serums such as the Clarins HydraSmooth and the HollyBerry Hyaluronic Serum, wouldn’t be considered my favourite but that’s not to say this isn’t a good serum because it is.

SAM_3377

It’s probably obvious from the images that the consistency of this serum is that of a cream. It is super lightweight and absorbs almost instantly into the skin. If you do massage this in with your fingertips, especially using upward motions, it does give of a bit of a milky texture making it even more luxurious feeling on the skin.

SAM_3380

The packaging of it, as with the corresponding eye cream, is basic and simple-almost clean looking to a point. I like that it has a pump applicator, and that one pump is more than sufficient to use across the entire face (pump and a half for both the face and neck). Scent wise it’s very organic with a slight floral undertone to the cream but it definitely isn’t offensive and it goes away the minute it’s absorbed into the skin.

SAM_3440

I have to say if I had to choose between the two Nakin Skincare products that I have on which one I like better, it would have to be the eye complex. I have started using this instead of my Environ Youth Essential Eye Gel and to be honest I think I like this better than that one.

SAM_3374

It doesn’t have any of the stickiness/tacky residue that the Environ one did and I also found this one absorbed much quicker than that one too. I didn’t however experience any cooling effect with this one like I do with the Environ but I say if I put in the effort and actually bothered to pop this into the fridge than that issue would be sorted (the environ one comes in a metal tube which is why it’s always cold without a fridge).

SAM_3375

With regards to fine lines and my dark circles, I did feel that they were pushed back and have become less noticeable by using this. For future use I probably will keep this as my morning eye cream because it’s lighter and quicker to absorb into the skin and the Environ one for the evening.

All of the Nakin Skincare products are available to purchase from their website which I have linked below in case any of you are interested 🙂

#PamperWeekend: Hollyberry Skincare

This is going to be part seven of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

SAM_3408

Today’s post features some amazing products from the brand HollyBerry which is a cruelty free family owned skincare brand. It focuses on using ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid to promote flawless skin. The first product I actually have to show you guys from them is their Hyaluronic acid and vitamin C serum.

SAM_3414

This serum comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pipette/dropper style dispenser to it. Texture wise I absolutely love this serum as it’s nice and light and unlike most serums it doesn’t create a tacky finish after it’s applied. The bottle is also dark glass which delights me as it’s well known that Vitamin C degrades with light.

SAM_3417

It is recommended that this serum be used both morning and night however I have been using it basically anytime I’ve felt that my skin needs a shot of hydration. I always follow up afterwards with a moisturiser and have been using my L’oreal HydraBoost which I featured in my last #PamperWeekend post.

SAM_3410

I received the Hollyberry Clay Mask which I didn’t like as much as the serum if I’m honest. This product only uses one ingredient and I personally found that it didn’t really do much for my skin. The way this mask is used is that you mix a small amount of it either with water or a serum that is very liquid based.

SAM_3412

It goes on very wet  and as it dries, it tends to go hard and tight which is great for giving you a temporary face lift but not anything else. I’ve been using this for roughly 3 weeks now, twice a week. It’s nice if your looking for something to pop on with girlfriends or just to relax but if your looking for benefits when it comes to your masks than I don’t recommend this.

All of these products can be purchases from the HollyBerry Website which I shall link below. The serum as far as I know costs 12 pounds which is roughly 14 euros and the mask is roughly the same.

#PamperWeekend: Ko•To•Ha London

This is going to be part five of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

Ko•To•Ha London is a relatively new skincare brand that has only really been on the market for roughly two years. It’s a natural organic brand which means it only uses natural based ingredients in it’s products. Most of it’s ingredients are herbal and are obtained via the far east.  For me, this is the first time I’ve ever tried anything from this brand and I thought it would be a good idea to include it as part of my #PamperWeekend series as some of these products are absolutely amazing to use.

SAM_3263

These first two products are actually hair products in that they are shampoo and conditioner. I have to say these are probably my favourite products out of the ones I own. Both the shampoo and conditioner use Tsubaki and Argan Oil as their active ingredients. The shampoo has a very oil like consistency to it, that if I’m honest had me worried at first that it would cause my hair to get oily too quickly after washing but it doesn’t. Instead it’s actually very hydrating and nourishing for the scalp. Because of it’s texture it doesn’t lather as much as other shampoos but the lather it does create is sufficient enough to clean the hair. I also found that my hair looked a lot more shiny afterwards and I think that’s probably because of the Argan Oil in it.

SAM_3261

The matching conditioner has a completely different texture and consistency to it in that it’s more like your average cream conditioner. I only ever use conditioner on the ends of my hair as applying it to the scalp causes my hair to get oily the very next day (normally I get oily on 3rd day hair). I like this conditioner and I think it works great with the shampoo, I just don’t think it’s anything special. The shampoo is definitely something unique to this brand but the conditioner for me, I found comparable to your basic conditioner that you can get from your local supermarket.

SAM_3253

The Moist Water from Ko•To•Ha London has a very misleading name to it in that I was expecting this to be a water spray similar to the Caudalie Hydrating Mist or La Roche Posay Zerosinc but it’s actual a toner. Probably the nastiest smelling toner I’ve ever used too but that said my skin absolutely loves this stuff. It’s so cooling and whenever I wipe it across my skin it absorbs almost instantly like my skin is craving for another swipe. I’ve actually decanted some of this into a little spray bottle and have taken to misting my face with it throughout the day because it’s just that good.

SAM_3256As a beauty junkie I am a huge fan of serums as they can be sometimes doubled up as primers under foundation. The Ko•To•Ha London Rejuvenation Serum is a great example of that. It has the consistency of milky water and when it’s rubbed into the skin it creates a lovely hydrating tacky surface that is perfect for layering your foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturiser over it.

SAM_3262

Last product from this brand is probably the only one I didn’t like and it’s their Olive and Coconut hand cream. This is a very very very thick hand cream and one I would only subject to using at night directly before bed. I would have been okay with doing that if it wasn’t for the super over powering smell of it. It smells of olives as you can guess but it’s a very artificial scent that just didn’t work for me so this product, for me anyways, is a pass.

SAM_3287

From this brand I would definitely have to say that both the shampoo and the moist water toner are must haves and I totally recommend them. The conditioner and the serum I also love but I think both these products can be found in other brands and possibly with a lower price tag.

#PamperWeekend: Hey Honey 🐝 🍯

This is going to be part two of the my ongoing series #PamperWeekend where I basically show you all the amazing skincare products that I have been loving recently. Make sure to tweet me using the hashtag all the products you’ve been loving too so that I can get some more inspiration.

Recently a new brand has hit the Irish market called Hey Honey and it’s a skincare brand that relies on, you guessed it, honey as it’s active ingredient. One major flaw when it comes to this brand is that if you have an allergy to honey -stay clear of it. Other than that I think I’m in love.

SAM_3222

First of the products that I have is their Hey Honey Don’t Miss A Spot Propolis Cleansing Foam. Now I have been recently using the Lancôme Aura Miralis cleanser which is also a honey based cleanser but if I was to compare the two I think they each have a different purpose. This cleanser I think is an amazing morning wash, especially because it’s got such a gentle and soft scent and foam to it that it really awakens the complexion.

SAM_3237

The Lancôme one I think is more suited for the removal of makeup because of how thick a texture it has as it’s more a gel cleanser whereas this one is a foam. You can definitely team the two of them up and use this one as a second cleanse cleanser. The foam itself isn’t super foamy though it does build up to a nice lather when rubbing into the face even if you’ve applied it on dry skin. Definitely love this cleanser and I’ve popped it aside to take on holidays with me as I think it’s a nice one to use when your feeling overly sweaty in hot weather.

SAM_3223

The second product that I have is the Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum and this is a must have product. I rarely tell people to go out and purchase an expensive product probably because I worry if they don’t like it’ll be on me but this is one of those products that I personally think everyone needs in their stash.

SAM_3226

Though it’s marketed as a serum, I personally love using it as a primer under my foundation. Because of it’s slightly tacky texture when it dries, it helps the foundation go on super smoothly. If you do want to use this as a serum and not a primer-the tackiness isn’t super sticky and can be gotten rid f by popping a good moisturiser over it.

SAM_3227

Both of these product have pumps so they get extra brownie points from me for that. The only real store that I’ve seen these in is Shaws Departments but you can of course purchase from their website which I shall link below.

Cellex-C Hydrasmooth Enhancer

Moisturizer is definitely one of the products within ones skincare that you can certainly save when is comes to purchasing it. Most of the benefits that the skin requires can be sought by using a good serum. Sometimes though I come across a product that can save me just a little more time when it comes to daily life and my routine. I’m talking about my recent discovery of the Cellex-C International Hydrasmooth Enhancer. For transparency I will say that I didn’t discover this by myself, it was sent to me but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a good product to own.

sam_2434

The jar contains 60mls of product within in it, and though the outer packaging is rather boring, the product itself has an interesting lilac colour to it. It does not smell great but then again I really wasn’t expecting it to with the entirety of the product being so clinical. The cream itself has a thick consistency similar to that of yogurt which makes sense seeing as the main ingredient is in fact a probiotic extract.

sam_2436

I have to say there is definitely an ingredient in this product that causes it to have the double effect of not only being a moisturizer but also acting like a primer on the skin. The texture of this cream when applied to the skin causes any pores, fine lines and wrinkles to instantly be redefined and perfected, giving that air-brush effect. It doesn’t contain any silicone so they’ve obviously used something else in it’s place.

sam_2435

The cream claims to “promote younger looking skin” and with the fact that it has a primer effect on the skin I do agree that it makes the skin look younger. However I have found that if I stop using it and use my regular moisturiser (Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb (Day)) with a different primer, my skin looks a bit lack lustre so the whole “promote” thing isn’t really true in my opinion.

sam_2438

Cellex-C products are available to Ireland via BeautyBay.com website and to those living in the UK you’ve got Harvey Nicholas as well.

Bioderma Launches HYDRABIO Range

The brand Bioderma was first introduced to me in the form of their very famous micellar water and since then I have been a big fan of their skincare ranges. They have recently brought out the Hydrabio Range which is meant to be used if your looking for a radiant complexion with exceptional hydration. I was lucky enough to be sent the Hydrabio Creme and the Hydrabio Gommage to review and would like to thank the company for sending these to me.

SAM_0874

The Hydrabio Gommage is your traditional gentle exfoliating cleanser. I have to say this is a very unique product for me. They say to use this cleanser three times a week but I personally think because it’s so gentle it can be used daily without any harsh effects to the skin. I personally use mine as a second cleanser at night to remove residue makeup and if I haven’t had any makeup on that day then I use it as my night cleanser.

SAM_0877

It’s very creamy in texture and the exfoliating scrub in it is very soft so if your into the really strong exfoliators then you won’t like this product at all. It comes out of the tube in a white thick creme and when you apply it to wet skin it lathers up into a milky scrub which is so hydrating for the skin.

SAM_0878

Your get 75mls of product in a tube and this product retails for 12.50 euros which compared to high end cleanser that tend to come in at the 20 euro mark the price really isn’t that bad.

SAM_0880

The second product I received is the Hydrabio Creme. I’ll be honest, I love love the packaging of this product! The jar is like this sturdy acrylic and the blue colour they choose really gives it a high end feel to it. The jar comes with a spatula which is used to dispense a small amount of product from the jar so you don’t pop your fingers in it which can cause bacterial growth.

SAM_0884

Texture wise this is a very thick creme, and honestly I’m not a huge fan of it under make-up it just takes up too much time to be absorbed. I think this is because I have normal skin and the creme is for dehydrated/dry skin. I do like it for days when I’m not wearing any make-up because it makes my skin nice and soft and plump.

SAM_0882

You get 50mls of product in a jar and the jar retails for 18.50 euros. There are of course other products in the range but these were the ones I was given to review. The other products include:

Hydrabio H2O 250ml 11.50 euros

h2o_0

Hydrabio Serum 40ml 22 euros

Image 49545

Hydrabio Gel-Creme 40ml 18.50 euros

Hydrabio Gel creme hd

Let me know if you guys have tried any of these products and what you thought of them. The Hydrabio Range is available in stores from the 4th of April (meaning their available now).
