Ocean Bloom Seaweed & Stem Cell Moisturiser

Receiving organic skincare is probably one of the best things in the world in my book as it tends to re-assure me that what I’m putting on my skin is good for it. Recently I received the Ocean Bloom Seaweed & Stem Cell Moisturizer  and have been using it religiously ever since.

First off the moisturizer itself comes in a beautiful strong acrylic pot which is a bit heavy to travel with but at the same time is secure enough that it definitely won’t break in transit. Inside the acrylic pot you get 50 mls of product and the very first thing I can say about it is that it doesn’t have the most pleasant of scents. That said it is fragrance free so the scent is simply that of the ingredients in it.

My main issue with this moisturizer really comes from its texture. It’s very thick and heavy feeling on the skin. It’s not uncomfortable in any sense but you do feel it whenever you have it on. It doesn’t work under foundation because of it’s thickness so for days where I wanted to wear makeup I definitely had to choose a different moisturizer. I should also mention that you can’t use this moisturizer as a night one as it does contain an SPF of 25 which in Ireland means it is a great sunscreen for days when you’re good to go barefaced.

Though the texture of it is heavy and thick it did improve the appearance of the skin brilliantly. I found that any discoloration of my skin from old pimples or spots was gone within two weeks of using it. My skin also felt softer and definitely more plump. To be honest if the texture of this moisturizer was just a bit lighter I would never use anything else except it.

The moisturizer does retail for 35.50 euros and is available for purchase from the Ocean Bloom website which I have linked below.

Gioventu Natural Vitamin E Oil

One thing I absolutely love doing with my blog is introducing new brands to my readers and for today’s blog post I have the new skincare brand Gioventu Cosmetics to talk about. Gioventu Cosmetics is a 100% natural and cruelty free brand that is currently in it’s start up stages. I was lucky enough to be sent one of their all natural Vitamin E Oils to try out and why not let you guys know what I think.

SAM_3847

Vitamin E, when used in skincare is well known to improve the appearance of fine wrinkles and make the skin super soft. The fact that this product is an oil means that it’s super concentrated, which is why you only get 15 mls of product in the squeezy bottle packaging. I honestly cannot complain about the amount either because it only retails for 2.99 pounds (3.50 euros approx.) and so it’s one of the most inexpensive skincare product I think I’ve ever featured on my blog.

The texture of this oil is really lovely. It feels nice and light on the skin and absorbs almost instantly without leaving any greasy residue behind. You can use this oil on it’s own by simply dispensing 3-4 drops in your hands and massaging it all over the face or you can do what I do which is mix it in with either your day or night moisturizer basically converting it into a beauty booster product.

I honestly cannot get enough of this oil since receiving it as it has made my skin look so smooth. I’ve added a link to the Gioventu Cosmetics website below and a link to the Vitamin E Oil as well in case any of you want to find out more about this product or even pick it up for yourselves.

#PamperWeekend: Skin Elixir Moisturiser

It’s the month of July and I’ve decided it was about time I started a new series on my blog. I’ve named this series #PamperWeekend as when it comes to taking care of our skin concerns we tend to do it when we have some spare time on our hands and want to relax i.e. the weekend. I’ve also added the hashtag in case you guys follow me on twitter and want to show me some of the skincare you’ve been using and loving too. For the very first post in this series I’m starting it off with the Skin Elixir Organic Frankincense & May Chang Moisturiser.

SAM_3229

Skin Elixir is an organic, vegan and cruelty free skincare brand so you automatically know that all the ingredients present are going to be 100% natural with no harsh chemicals. The itself does come in a glass jar and you do get 60mls of product in which is very generous as this is a very thick moisturiser.

SAM_3235

Most of the ingredients in this moisturiser are oils and so it has a very balm to oil texture. As I’ve said the moisturiser itself is very thick and is pale yellow in colour. Though it feels quick hard when you initially apply it to the skin, as you work it in the heat off your hands and fingers transform it into a smooth and silky oil.

SAM_3230

All in all I do like this moisturiser. I think if you have dry skin then you would absolutely love this. Oily skin might find this to have a bit of a greasy finish as I have combo skin and my t-zone, where I get oily, didn’t really like this so I just used it everywhere else bar my t-zone. The only thing I didn’t like about this moisturiser is the smell! It’s so overpowering and it lingers too. It’s a natural scent though-coming from the ingredients.

If your interested in trying out this moisturiser for yourself I’ve linked the website below and if you enter the code NATURALLOVER at the checkout you get 10% off (I get no commission).
