Deise Dolls Day Goodie Bag! πŸ›οΈ

Recently I had the lovely pleasure of attending the DeiseDollsDay Event which was basically a beauty charity event put together by the bloggers of Waterford (also known as DeiseBloggers). On the day we were given very generous beauty goodie bags to take home with us and I thought it would be a good idea to run through it and what I got in it with you guys.

SAM_3662

I should probably get the first two products over and done with as both of these are tanning products and I personally don’t use tan at all. I’m very much an embrace the paleness type of gal and so these will most likely go to a friend. If you guys would like reviews on them I’m pretty sure I can get her to guest review them on my blog so do let me know.

SAM_3665

The first of the tans is the TanTastic spray on tan and it comes in a nice simple white spray bottle with a popping pink lid. The second on the tans is from TanOrganic and this is a mousse instead of a spray on. Both of these brands I’ve heard great things on their tans but like I said if you would like a review for them I can get my friend to guest write it on here.

SAM_3666

One of the many brands sponsoring the event and was present on the day was Tomitago which is an Irish owned skincare brand. I’ll be honest in saying that up until that day I had never heard of this brand but I did get their cleansing oil to try. I both love and hate the packaging in that I love the pump and the metal look of it but because it’s opaque and not see-through than I will have no idea as to when my cleanser is running out.

SAM_3667

I got the Ziaja hand cream from there Goat’s Milk range which is also a product I’ve never tried. That said I have tried their hand cream from the Olive range (the one in the green packaging) and absolutely love that one so I’m hoping that this will be the same texture and formulation wise.

SAM_3669

I was absolutely delighted when I spotted this Blank Canvas F23 brush as the makeup artist on the day had used it to apply the models foundation and the result was simply flawless. The brush has a nice dense but flexible bristles on it and they angle themselves into a pointed shape making it super handy for getting into the contours of the face.

SAM_3671

The Declare Detox Night Cream is an amazing night cream if you’re looking for something to hydrate your skin whilst you sleep. It’s not heavy and it comes in a handy 50ml tube which makes it perfect for travelling and on the go.

SAM_3672

As you guys all know one of my favourite brands ever is Essence Cosmetics and to be quite frank I can never have to many products from them. This their smoky eyes set in the shade 01 Smokey Night.

SAM_3673SAM_3766

It comes with a useless mini sponge tipped applicator which surprisingly I haven’t lost yet and three super pigmented eyeshadows. There’s a lovely pale silver, a muted grey and a strong shimmery black. Everything you need to create a smoky eye in one single palette.

SAM_3674

Two of the NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Cake Powder sets were included in the goodie bag as well. These are handy little palettes that contain a clear wax for setting the brows and two differing shades of brow powder.

SAM_3767
ECP05 Brunette
SAM_3768
ECP01 Black/Gray

The palette also comes with a mini spoolie brush which is actually pretty decent and a small angled brush which isn’t.

SAM_3675

This is probably the only product from the goodie bag that I have tried enough since getting it to give a decent mini review on. This is the Nia Oat and Avocado Facial Exfoliator and I simply put hate this product. It smells terrible and that aside it feels very sticky on the face. I honestly felt like I had to re-wash my face again after I had used it using a different cleanser. Also it’s terrible for getting makeup off.

SAM_3678

Let’s end things on a high note with one of my favourite products from the goodie bag. I have reviewed products from Technic Cosmetics before so I shall link that below but for now this is their Cream Blush & Bronze palette and it’s an 8-pan palette with four blushes and four bronzers

SAM_3681

I personally have been using all of these as blushes because I think the bronzers are a bit too warm and have a bit too much orange in them to really be suited as bronzers. That said as blushes they work a dream. Super pigmented and very creamy. Blend beautifully but not over powder (considering it’s a cream that can be expected and hence I don’t really judge it) and they’re not sticky at all once they’re set.

That’s everything that I received in my goodie bag and if you would like me to review a specific item in more detail please let me know and I’ll be happy to do that!

P.S: I received a few Uriage products in my goodie bag too but I’m gonna be reviewing them in a later post so stay tuned

W7 Makeup Mid Summer Nights Palette

Do you ever get those moments where in a certain brand that typically sells semi okay makeup, you find that hidden gem that is actually an amazing product. This is what’s after happening with me with regards to this palette by W7 Makeup. I’ve always gotten sucked into W7 Makeup’s products because of the amount of hype they get on social media and never have I tried a product from them that I have actually liked until now.

SAM_3636

This is the Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights palette and if you’re a devotee of MAC Cosmetics then this palette packaging shouldn’t be un-familiar to you. It’s literally a direct copy of the 9 pan palettes that MAC own. That aside, the eyeshadows in this palette are almost as good as the eyeshadows in those MAC ones.

SAM_3637

The palette, very true to it’s name, comes with 9 eyeshadows and they are very much from the berry colour family. They range from almost a soft dusky mauve to an amazing intense cranberry red, with the odd gold and taupe shade thrown in for good measure.

These eyeshadows are buttery soft, blend out seamlessly and have almost little to no fallout whatsoever to them. I particularly like the pigmentation of the shimmer shades more than the mattes but that only because I prefer the colour of those shades.

This palette only costs 4.95 euros, putting that next to the 33.50 euros price tag of the MAC one, I can overlook the copyright details in the packaging.

πŸ‘ Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette πŸ‘

Recently Too Faced Cosmetics released an entire new collection for their peach range called Peach Perfect. Rather than rushing out however to purchase said collection and ending up either loving or hating them, I thought it better to review the original product that started the craze that is peach-smelling makeup; the Sweet Peach Palette.

SAM_3599

This eighteen shadow palette comes in a gorgeous light gradient to dark peach colored tin as it’s packaging. The palette does have a mirror in it’s lid so major brownie points for that and YES it does smell of candied peaches. There are a total of six matte shades, ten satin shades and two shimmer shades. Colour wise the palette has some good highlighting shades and warm toned browns plus of course the pretty peach shades and a few deeper darker shades popped in for good measure.

SAM_3600

Out of all the formulations I found the satin finishes to have the best finish on the eyelids and the best pigmentation so it’s a very good thing that the majority of the palette is composed of this formulation. My favourite shade from the palette has got to Nectar and this is an interesting deep peachy gold shade that is probably the equivalent of the inside of a peach.

The palette does retail for a massive 47 euros and to be honest, now that autumn has reared it’s head, I don’t find the shades great to use as they’re more suited to spring/summer. It really depends on whether or not you can justify spending that price tag for a palette that you’ll only really use 5 months (if that) out of the year. Would you?

DeiseDollsDay Event

So a few weeks ago I decided to attend the Deise Dolls Day event which is an event that was put together by the bloggers of Waterford for Pieta House which is a charitable society. I found it a great chance both to support charity and to have a day filled will all things beauty.

22127511_1643526635722700_1442836129_n

For the first hour of the event we were treated to a step by step tutorial by Irish Makeup Artist Sammy Stacey. She did a nice smoky bronze eye look using products from Inglot, Makeup Gallery, The Balm & So Sue Me to name a few.

22127276_1643526629056034_1040451578_n

For the second hour we were introduced to the amazing extension hair pieces by Easilocks. The demonstrator showed us how easy it is to simply lift up your own hair and clip in the extension piece for a dramatic difference.

22127601_1643526712389359_611339893_n

Last hour was very much dedicated to a bit of food and browzing of the pharmacy, Waterford Health Park Pharmacy, were the event was taking place on the day. We were very lucky enough to get gifted a bunch of goodies in a goodie bag on the way out but I think I shall safe that for another post.

L.O.V. FatalMuse Liquid Matte Lipstick

It’s no secret on this blog that I am a huge fan of L.O.V. Cosmetics seeing as last month I did an entire three part series simply reviewing their products. I shall link those posts below in the case any of you didn’t catch them or are new to my blog. For today’s post I’m focusing on a newer release of theirs and that’s their FatalMuse Liquid Matte Lipsticks.

SAM_3656

Whenever I hear the word Matte in liquid lipsticks I’m automatically turned off because I have this instinctive fear that it’s going to be super drying on the lips and I tend to prefer my lips to be hydrated (with the exception of when I want to wear my M.A.C Russian Red Lipstick). These are not drying whatsoever, they are actually really smooth on the lips and set almost with a velvet finish. Pigmentation of them is intense with a high colour payoff.

SAM_3657

The applicator is nice and thin making it possible for you to initially go around your lips with it to outline them before filling them in completely with the flattened side of it. I have two shades out of the ten available and both of them I love completely because they’re nice vampy shades that are perfect for the coming fall months.

SAM_3758

The first of the two shades that I have is No. 770 Extrovert which is a nice berry shade with a slight red undertone to it. I found these to last roughly 8 hours on my lips without touch ups and through non-greasy food. With gresy food however they do tend to break down slightly because of the oil.

SAM_3756

The second shade that I have is No. 780 Bold Attitude which is a nice cranberry shade and out of the two I definitely gravitate towards this one more. Layering wise these don’t cake especially if you stick to nice thin coats when applying it. That said because these are so opaque you really shouldn’t need more than one swipe.

Essence ‘Hello Happiness’ Trend Edition

Even though January is considered to be the month that the New Year starts in, I always feel like September is the month where the year really starts. It’s probably because it’s the month that indicates the end of summer, the start of schools and colleges and the beginning of a new season. For me whenever September comes around, I love to re-vamp not only my wardrobe but also my makeup and brush collection and it just so happens that Essence Cosmetics seems to be in the same mindset as me with the launch of their new trend edition ‘Hello Happiness’

This trend edition is dedicated in it’s entirety to makeup brushes and keeping them clean, pristine and in great condition. The collection in total is composed of seven brushes in total along with a cute brush bag and brush cleansing soap for keeping your brushes clean. From this collection I was kindly sent the foundation brush and the cleansing soap. I did try to get some of the other brushes to add to this review but it seems they’re flying out of the stores like there’s no tomorrow.

SAM_3581

The foundation brush is the smallest of the brushes handle-wise, coming almost like a travel brush to be frank. It has super dense and very tightly compacted bristles which stops it from absorbing to much of your foundation as it is applying it. Application wise it applies almost any base I’ve used with it (Urban Decay Naked Skin, Bareminerals BarePro, Garnier BB Cream and Rimmel Fresher Skin) flawlessly and without any brush stroke marks or streaking.

SAM_3583

I did wash this brush after every application with the cleansing soap and it washes beautifully. No shedding and no soap residue remains on the brush either. Also the brush itself is super soft when you first get it-it stays soft even after washing. The cleansing soap I found worked really nice to remove almost all traces of makeup from this brush.

SAM_3585

I did try it with some of my other brushes and found that with synthetic hair brushes it did great but with natural hair brushes it kind of left a residue on them. It made them feel almost plastic, like there was some sort of coating on the hairs of the brushes. The packaging of the cleansing soap does clearly state to use only with synthetic brushes but I personally never follow the rules when it comes to makeup and products. Also I simply rewashed the brushes my usual way with baby shampoo and they went back to normal.

essence hello happiness! brush bag open

I highly recommend these brushes and the cleansing soap for any of your synthetic brushes. They are amazing quality and that’s not the best part. Every single one of these brushes retails for less than 5 euros and with brushes being so expensive these days that’s definitely a bargain.

M.A.C Russian Red Lipstick

Whenever someone asks me “what’s your favourite lipstick?” my reply will always be MAC Russian Red lipstick. The main reason is because this lipstick is the one that I chose for my big day, my wedding. I think when someone chooses something for their wedding then in their eyes that product or item is perfect for them and that’s exactly how I feel about this lipstick.

SAM_3571

Like 90% of MAC lipsticks it has the very iconic bullet shaped design for it’s outer packaging as it’s lipstick tube. The lipstick itself is one of MAC’s Matte formulated lipsticks and true to the formulation name, this lipstick has not a single bit of a shine to it whatsoever once it’s applied on the lips. In fact it’s so matte that it can be borderline drying on the lips if worn excessively.

SAM_3573

I tend to avoid wearing this on a day to day basis instead reserving it for those special occasions when I want a true red. Also when I do want to wear it, I make sure to exfoliate my lips before hand with a lip scrub like the Primark Beauty: PS..PRO Lip Scrub and then applying a good hydrating lip balm or lip mask. My favourite lip mask is theΒ Nugg Beauty: Lip Mask.

SAM_3575

I think what makes this lipstick so special is the colour of it. It’s the most intense and flawless red shade that seems to falter almost every single skin tone that wears it. I say this is my favourite lipstick but I’m not alone in that statement. This lipstick is a favourite of a lot of makeup artist’s and beauty bloggers also.

SAM_3594

Would you rock this red shade? If not let me know in the comments below what your fav MAC Lipstick is πŸ™‚
