Catrice Blush Flush Limited Edition Collection

The trend of draping has been almost as popular in the makeup world this year as contouring was two years ago and strobing was last year. To make sure you have the right tools to achieve this trend Catrice Cosmetics has based it’s recent limited edition collection for February on it, and has released a total of 6 products in varying shades to help achieve the perfect draped look.

Essence Valentine’s Day Trend Edition: 💞 Wood You Love Me? 💞

Valentine’s Day is a holiday that either people really really love or really really hate. There really is no in between. For me, I think Valentine’s Day is super cute and a great way to do something different with the person or persons that you love. However, regardless of whether you love or hate Valentine’s Day I know that you are going to love this new trend edition from Essence Cosmetics called Wood You Love Me?. This is a limited edition collection and features some incredible products that you can use on the day regardless or whether you’re going out or staying in for a cozy night.

Let’s start things off with the products that I actually have from the collection and then I will pop pictures of everything else from the release below. The first, and probably the most gorgeous product from this trend edition is the Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette in 01 From The Forest, With Love! This is five pan palette that is very wearable and neutral with regards to it’s eyeshadow shades.

I have to say I absolutely love the detail that went into the packaging of this palette. It’s got a 2D reflective image on the front of it, that, depending on how you tilt it, will show two bunnies running to hug each other. It also doesn’t have any useless applicators included in it, which is refreshing to see. My only wish was that it should have had a mirror as it would have made a great choice for travel.

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is beautiful, rich and buttery and creamy. They blend out flawlessly on the eyes though they do have a bit of fallout-especially the more shimmery shades. The centre champagne shade, in my opinion, works great as both a eye highlight and a cheek highlight and gives off a very intense shine. Highly highly recommend this palette and it only retails  for €4.40.

To go with the palette, they did include a double ended brush as part of the collection. I have to say, this is a very interesting brush and I definitely don’t have anything like it in my very vast collection of brushes. One of the ends of the brush has a very unique V-shape to it and it took me a while to figure out that when you look at it from above it’s shaped like a heart! So Cute!  ^_^.

That said I don’t know how you would use this brush side to apply eyeshadow, so far I’ve only been using it for highlighting my brow bone as the shape of the brush doesn’t really matter for this.

The other end is a-lot more useful and is shaped like a dome, making it perfect for applying and blending out product in the crease and the outer corner or the eye. I also found it great for highlighting the inner corner and applying my primer evenly. The bristles of this brush are super soft & yes that softness is still there after washing. They are also synthetic and so can be used with both cream and powder products. The brush retails for €2.90.

Duo Eye Pencil
Available in two shades

“The wooden eye pencil with two perfectly aligned colours in matt and shimmering can be sharpened and has a high coverage as well as a soft texture for gorgeous long-lasting results.”

False Lashes

“The false lashes offer breathtaking volume and a look that is sure to make all hearts beat a little faster-Includes lash glue.”

01 Eye Love You

Lip Palette

“Five high coverage, creamy lipsticks in a pink-fuschia-red colour scheme with either a metallic, shimmering or matt finish conjure-up a multitude of kiss-proof styles on the lips.”

01 You Are My Absolute Favourite

Nail Polish
Available in three shades

“Fast-drying nail polishes with a high coverage in lime, light pink and metallic rose gold create trendy manicures that are sure to last!”

Nail File Set

“The set contains two nail files to shorten, shape and file the nails-with one extra for your best friend.”

01 Love Me Twice

Make-Up Sponges

“Two practical makeup sponges for the application of all textures-washable and reusable.”

01 Mr & Ms Cute

Highlighter and Blush Palette

“The soft shimmering highlighter in a light champagne shade and the blush in a delicate pink are a dream team for a fresh, radiant complexion.”

Hydrating Face Mask

“The moist sheet mask with active ingredients provides skin with the moisture it needs and makes the skin feel wonderfully supple. The cute bunny rabbit design is sure to put a smile on your face!”

Energizing Eye Sheet Mask

“A moist sheet mask for the eyes: it has an invigorating effect and contains active ingredients to provide moisture. And thanks to its foxlike look, the pampering face care is even more fun.”

And that’s the entire collection! As always, all of Essence Cosmetics products are extremely affordable and this collection has products that suit everyone priorities for V-day, whether it’s chilly at home and pampering yourself or going out on the town in full glam makeup. The collection is available in stores from today up until the 14th of February.

Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne Collaboration

New launches are never done half-way when it comes to Urban Decay and this is definitely evident in their Spring 2018 release which is in collaboration with Kirsten Leanne, a youtuber who’s main ascetic is her love  of bold colours. It’s very easy to see why Urban Decay decided to part with her on this release as their love of colour can be seen with every product in their line. As far as I know these products will be available in stores on March the 1st and much like their UDXBasquiat collection, it will probably be limited edition.

Essence ‘Made To Sparkle’ Trend Edition

Happy 2018 everyone! I hope everyone had an amazing time off and a great start to the new year. Essence Cosmetics has one of the most featured brand on my blog throughout 2017 and so I thought it would only make sense, from my perceptive, to feature it as my first post of 2018. Trend Editions are small capsule collection that Essence Cosmetics tends to bring out every few months just to introduce new trends to it’s line and keep things fresh within it’s products.

For this trend edition Essence Cosmetics truly brought the duo-chromatic trend to life, especially with it’s Highlighting and Transforming Prismatic Palette. This palette contains four very unique duo-chromatic powders that can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks to add intense pops of highlight to those areas.

The powders themselves have a very satin and silky texture to them. Pigmentation for me could have been more intense but I did find if I sprayed my brush with a bit of MAC Fix+ than I got the payoff that I wanted from them. I think this is a great highlighter palette for the eyes, especially for the inner corner and the lips, particularly on the cupid’s bow. For the cheeks, I personally found the powders difficult to get to mesh with the skin.

Also from the collection I picked up two of their Highlighting Eye Pens and kinda wish I didn’t. These have such a creamy formulation to them and their pigmentation definitely looks like the kind of thing I want popped on to my eyes to make them glam.

Unfortunately the pigmentation just didn’t translate. I would go and swipe these pens across my eyelids and nothing would go on my eyes almost as if they’re dried out, which they’re not because they swatch beautifully on my hands….can I say dud products or what -_-.

The first of these pens is in the shade 01 Highlight In Your Eyes and this is a nice shimmery silver with a very intense gold undertone too it that makes it look almost titanium in colour.

The pens do come in great packaging in that they are twist-up so there is no need to worry about a topper…not that you’ll be apply them much because as I’ve said they don’t give any pigmentation what so ever on the eyelids.

The second shade is called 02 It’s Time To Party and this is a nice champagne rose gold shade. I know Essence Cosmetics is one of my fav brands ever but these pens definitely didn’t do it for me. I do highly recommend the palette if you’re looking to add something extra to you’re makeup look.

I’ve added images of the other available products within this trend edition below and I can definitely say that the liquid lipsticks are of amazing formulation. I didn’t pick them up because I have so many lip products in my collection at the moment but my friend did and she loves them to pieces.

Catrice Kaviar Gauche 2017

A new limited edition collection has been released by Catrice Cosmetics for the month of November and it’s another collection based on Kavier Gauche which is a popular German bridal brand. This is the third limited edition collection that Catrice has released based on Kaviar Gauche. The collection I think will be available up until mid January.

Catrice Dawid Tomaszewski Collection

For those of you who don’t know who Dawid Tomaszewski is, he’s an art fashion designer and I’ll be quite honest before seeing this Catrice collection in stores I didn’t know who he was either and only really researched him because of this collection. To be frank knowing who he is isn’t really important other than when it comes to his obvious signature on the packaging of this collection and the colour selection. Everything else is down to the incredible formula’s that Catrice Cosmetics is well known for at an affordable price point.

Now I couldn’t get my hands on the entire collection unfortunately but hopefully the products that I am going to be reviewing in this post will be enough to give you guys an idea on whether or not the collection is for you. The main star of the collection is the Eye & Face Palette and this retailed for 9 euros which, considering it’s Catrice, was a bit up there in price in comparison to they’re normal pricing of 5.50 euros for LE Palettes.

The palette contains a highlighter, a blush and 8 eyeshadows plus a mirror which all come packaged in this amazing sleek rose-gold packaging. The highlighter is a great one if you’re more of a subtle highlight loving gal though if you layer it over another product in this collection than it is possible to get that highlight from space effect if you want.

The blush shade is a stunning coral shade that has been shot through with gold reflective shimmer. It’s very similar to both Nars Orgasm and Sleek’s Rose Gold Blush. Personally I found this shade very summery in colour so I would have preferred a more warm shade for the winter months.

Eyeshadow wise you get 4 shimmer shades, two satin and 2 mattes and all of them bar the sixth shade in the images above are highly pigmented and blend out beautifully. The sixth shade I personally found to be slightly chalky and had a lot of fallout when you go to blend it out on the eyes. It’s a palette with one dude unfortunately.

As I mentioned above, it is possible to get the highlight from space effect with the highlighter available in the palette if you layer over this highlighter from the same collection. This is the Glow Stick in the shade C01 Fashion Fash and it is a cream highlighter that gives a nice subtle glow on the cheeks.

Packaging wise it comes in this amazing rose gold triangle twist up tube, similar to the packaging of the Hourglass Stick Foundation. Texture wise I would compare it to that of a buttery lipstick. It is not chunky and has no glitter in it at all-just a nice luminous shimmer. I found it worked really well over foundation as it didn’t move it around at all and it also blended out beautifully.

This retailed for 5.50 euros which considering the quality of it and the packaging really isn’t that much of a pain to fork over for it.

Last two products that I have from the collection are both lip products and the first is the Eye and Lip Pencil in the shade C02 Violet for VICTOR-y. Now this product does say eye and lip meaning you could use it as an eyeliner if you wish but I personally found it too hard to use as an eyelid liner. When I popped it into the waterline it seemed to just disappear it nothing so I do recommend that you just ignore the eye part of the pencil.

On the lips however this pencil is amazing. Highly pigmented with a velvet texture to it. This makes it both hard and soft enough to get that perfect outline on the lips. I did find it to be a bit drying by the end of the day but that said I find some of my MAC Cosmetics Lip liners to be drying by the end of the day too.

Price wise this is only 3.50 euros and I believe it is available in another shade called C01 Glided Glitz.

There are I believe 2 lipstick shades in this collection and the second one is a red, and with me owning so many red lipsticks within my collection, I honestly couldn’t justify another one so I went with this dark violet shade. It also goes with the lip pencil above so it seemed like the smart choice.

This shade is called C01 Un-Conventional Violet and it’s very much a matte finish lipstick that looks amazing when layered over the lip pencil above. Though it’s matte this lipstick is not drying whatsoever and has amazing lasting power on the lips too. I found because it has a more hydrating formulation than the lip liner, when they’re layered together it stops the lip pencil from drying out the lips.

This collection is limited edition and as far as I know will only be available up until mid-November so if you want it, it’s best to try and get it fast.
