Catrice Cosmetics Glam & Doll Mascara

When you ask most people what’s the one thing they can’t live without when it comes to their makeup, they will generally say mascara. Why? Because it’s probably the easiest thing to pop on that instantly make you look 10 times more awake. Which is why it’s so important to find a good mascara that actually works exactly how it says it will on the tube. One that I found that does this recently is the Catrice Glam & Doll Mascara.

This mascara comes in a really pretty lavender tube and claims to sculpt the lashes whilst added volume and definition to them. The color of it is straight up black and I have to say the pigmentation of it is great. It’s a nice strong black, there is no ashiness with it that can happen sometimes with lower end mascaras.

The wand surprised me a bit when I first pulled it out as this is a volumising mascara so I expected it to have a big chunky wand. It’s actually rather slim, which weirdly I prefer. It makes it so easy to get every single lash and coat them evenly with product. I also found the slim wand makes it easier to apply the mascara to the lower lash line as well.

The bristles on the wand are fairly short which makes me happy as this is a plastic wand and with the amount of times I have stabbed myself in the eye because some mascara have long spikes on their wands is insane. And it hurts, so the short bristles make sure I don’t hurt myself in my mascara application process.

All in all I think this is a great mascara if you’re looking for one that will add volume to the lashes without breaking the bank. I found it lasted all day on my lashes without losing the curl and I would definitely repurchase it again.

Kiss Pro Lashes

Lashes for me tend to be reserved for special occasion wear and so when Kiss Makeup kindly sent these to me I found them to beautiful not to be reviewed here on my blog. I don’t wear lashes a lot so I gave these as a gift to my friend Ciara of Ciara Louise Beauty  who does wear lashes to review them for me. I guess you could call this a guest post here on my blog.

Ciara’s Review

Whether you are looking for natural flirty everyday lashes or voluminous night out lashes, KISS lashes are the answer.  KISS have a really great range of lashes and they seem to have lashes for every occasion!  I tried out two sets of lashes by KISS the Shy Lashes from their Look So Natural collection and the Posh Lashes from their True Volume collection.

 SAM_42291

I am someone who doesn’t usually wear lashes because I am always afraid that I am going to mess up putting them on or that they would just look horrible on me.  I can firmly say now that this is no longer the case.

SAM_42321

The first pair I tried were the KISS True Volume Lashes in Posh these are full and beautiful, and I liked the way they looked.  For how much volume they gave me they were lightweight and as someone who wears contacts they didn’t irritate my eyes which is great!

 SAM_42301

The second set where the KISS Looks So Natural Lashes in Shy.  I had an instant love for these as soon as I put them on, they looked so natural, were super lightweight and were just gorgeous.  The fact that KISS lashes have tapered ends make they look so much more natural and like they could be your own lashes.  I have been converted to the lash life I have to say.

SAM_42311

The Looks So Natural Lashes retail for €7.49, and the True Volume Lashes retail for €6.49.  Both can be bought in Boots.  In my opinion they are 100% worth the money and I will defiantly be stocking up on lashes next time I see them!

EyeCandy Lashes

I sometimes feel like a broken record when I say that I don’t wear lashes everyday, and to some people it’s like I’ve spoken a cardinal sin. People these days are rocking lashes every single day and lashes for me are a strictly special occasion product and even then I like the ones that simply enhance what I already have by making them longer and fuller. I was recently sent a few lashes by the brand EyeCandy and though these lashes are good quality lashes I’m afraid I myself am not a huge fan of them.

SAM_2273

I got sent three pairs in total, two of them are from their volumize range and the other is from their maximise range. Out of the three the 006 pair are the only ones I liked simply because they’re so natural looking on the eyes. Like I said these are very high quality lashes, the band is super thin and this pair specifically felt lightweight on the eyes. Brand wise the lashes are not for the faint of heart, they are designed to be noticed and to make a statement.

SAM_2271

The second pair from their volumise range that I have is the number 004 and I honestly couldn’t wear these for longer than an hour because of the weight of them on my eyes. They are super thick, though the band is thin which shows how high quality they are. Cheap lashes then to come with a thick plastic band that you always feel whenever you blink. I recommend if you are going to be wearing lashes this thick to not bother really with an eye makeup look as the lashes will just end up covering it anyway. The same can be said for this next pair which is from their maximise range.

SAM_2270

These lashes numbered 015 are the thickest out of the three I was sent and that because they’re actually layered lashes. By that I mean they’re two sets of lashes on top of on another and meshed together via the lash band. These are really not for me, I couldn’t wear them, they were just to thick and I naturally have small eyes so they just looked super unnatural on me. I thick these would be great if you were into cosplay or even for Halloween or even if you worked in theatre because they really give that over the top, dramatic look to the eyes.

All in all these lashes are high quality, have a nice thin lash band and are generally inexpensive. Would I wear them everyday, nope. Nor would I recommend them to daily lash wearers. I think these types of lashes are best reserved for costume parties and those that have a profession that requires heavy makeup.

Invogue Eyelashes

Eyelashes, for me are a beauty item that I reserve for special occasions simply because I believe that on a daily basis mascara is more than enough. Now even though I don’t wear them on a daily basis I still am a girl who likes to use good quality lashes regardless. I’ve tried so many brands and some I have loved and others I haven’t. Recently I was lucky enough to have been sent a few new lashes by the incredible brand Invogue. I call them an incredible brand because their lashes are nothing short of incredible. I got sent three pairs in total, two from their Glamourise range and one from their Volumise range.

sam_2259

You can differ between the Volumise lashes and the Glamourise lashes by their outer packaging. The Glamourise come in a purple tinted outer box whereas the Volumise ones come in a pink tinted box. The lashes from the Volumise range are definitely the ones I consider to be the most natural looking on the eyes out of the two ranges. I have the Volumise lashes in number #04 and this pair is brilliant for adding length to my lashes.

sam_2261

In general I have very short lashes so any pair of lashes instantly makes me look over done. I didn’t find this with these at all. I can wear these very comfortably throughout the day without even having a second thought that I have lashes on. This is also down to how lightweight these lashes are and this goes for the Volumise versions as well. You don’t feel these on your eyes, something I can’t say for other lash brands that I’ve tried.

sam_2266

The Volumise lashes range are definitely for when you want to add that something extra to your makeup look. Because of how each of the different pairs of lashes available in the range are cut, you can achieve different eye looks depending on the lashes you use. The #07 are a great choice for when your looking to achieve that cat-eye, elevated at the corners eye look.

sam_2269

They have a tapered edge and the outer lashes are longer than the inner corner ones. These I found look amazing when you just have a nice winged liner on your eyes. Also I found these made my eyes bigger because of their shape. All of the lashes come with their own brand eyelash glue. The glue has a blue tint to it that disappears slowly as it dries. The only negative is that it’s a one time use tube so when you want to reuse these lashes you have to purchase your own lash glue to use with them. Yes, These lashes are re-usable and I’ve found I got roughly 10 uses out of one pair.

sam_2267

Definitely my favourite from the three that I own is the Glamourise #10 lashes. These lashes give the illusion that you have super thick, super full looking lashes that aren’t over the top whatsoever. They also have the added effect of making your eyes look rounder because the lashes in the centre of the band are longer the ones on the outer corners.

sam_2268

The band on these lashes is actually a clear band which means once the glue dries clear you don’t need to add liner to your look if you don’t want too because there’s no need to hide the band. These lashes are available to purchase online from the Invogue International website (linked below), Amazon, and are also available in Beauty Stores, Asda, Bodycare and some other local beauty outlets.
