Urban Decay Beached Eyeshadow Palette

There is nothing I love more than when summer time hits and Urban Decay release their summer collection. I don’t think their is a single year that has passed since I’ve gotten into makeup that I haven’t picked something up from their many releases. This years collection really incorporates the summer image of palm trees and sandy beaches as well as clear skies and warm days. This is also reflected in the product shades as well.

SAM_4621 From the collection I only picked up the star of the collection and that’s the Beached Eyeshadow Palette. This palette has eight beautiful shades which are a mixture of matte, satin and shimmer finishes. Out of the eight shades, six of them are completely wearable on an everyday basis so it’s definitely a great palette for travel and for creating nice neutral looks.

SAM_4624 I love the packaging of this palette too, it’s very different to any other palette in my collection. It has a very old-school tin pencil case vibe to it and it opens horizontally too. The lid of the palette flips completely open so it means you can you can keep it to the back of the palette if you want to use your own mirror but if not-it has a great big mirror that perfect for focusing on your eye area because of the shape of it.

SAM_4622 Both the pigmentation and formulation of this palette do not disappoint. I absolutely love the shimmers but they do have a bit of fallout so I do recommend doing your eyeshadow before your base. Damping your brush also stops this and intensives the pigmenation of the shadow too.

The palette is available in stores now and retails for 34 euros. I have added a link to it via the Debenhams website in the case you would like to pick it up for yourself.

Face Powders, Highlighter

Bare Minerals Invisible Glow Highlighting Powders

If I had to pick a high end brand other than Urban Decay to be my favourite it would definitely be BareMinerals. There is very little that I’ve tried from BareMinerals that I didn’t like and because of that I have quite a few of their products within my cosmetics collection. Recently I picked up their Invisible Glow powders because ever since I discovered the soft illuminator from the L.O.V Fall Collection 2017 I have been hooked on subtle highlights for my complexion. It just looks so pretty and natural and soft.

There are two shades available in the range and the first shade is the lightest of the two. It’s called Fair to Light and is a white pearl-scent shade with peach shimmer running very, very subtly through it. The powder is very finely milled and on the face it blends out seamlessly without any harsh lines. The shimmer isn’t chunky but lovely and soft almost candle lit glow like. If I was to compare this to anything currently on the market I would say it’s very similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders.

The second shade is called Medium and is definitely darker in colour than the previous shade. This is very much a peach toned highlighter but again because it’s so softly and finely milled it looks very subtle on the skin. I personally like taking this down a bit onto my cheek bones because I find the colour of it warms up my skintone whilst adding a nice glow to it overall.

These compacts currently retail for 30 euros each and I picked mine up from Debenhams Ireland who tend to do discount offers of 10-15% of makeup on a monthly basis so you can pick up this compact for less than 30 for sure.

Holy Grail Product

Don’t you just love it when you find that product that you’ve been searching for and you literally cannot live a single day without it afterwards. That’s kinda what’s after happening with me with this product. Let me explain first why I need such an expensive product in my life.

I have normal/combination skin, depending on the season I’m in, but the areas around my eyes and my eyes themselves are really really sensitive. They’re so sensitive that if I go near them with an inexpensive eye makeup remover or a makeup wipe I end up spending the entire next day rubbing at my eyes while tears stream down my face! That’s how bad it is. So I went on a little hunt, I was willing to spend how ever much money, and I discovered this. Its the Lancome Bi-Facil Non Oily Instant Cleanser Sensitive Eyes.

This is one of those eye makeup removers that has the two layers-one oil and the other water-that you need to shake together before you use it. Now the bottle does say Non Oily on it but if I’m honest after I use it on my eyelids there is an oily residue left over but its not uncomfortable. It’s more of a moisturizing feeling oil than a greasy one. I do however suggest that people with oily skin and oily eyelids to stay away from this product! After it is shaken up it goes a sort of cloudy blue color, I simply apply it onto a cotton wool pad at this point and press it against my eyelids for a few seconds. It dissolves the makeup completely and I only ever have to use 2 cotton pads, one for each eye.

I don’t get any irritation associated with this product at all and I never have the urge to rub my eyes either whenever I’m done using this product. Another great thing about this product is that it lasts for an incredibly long time. I’ve only ever have to repurchase it once in the last year and I use it every single day. This is my holy grail product and I don’t think I will ever stop using it. Let me know what your holy grail product is in the comments below! 🙂

Lip Products

BareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip-Oil Balm

“Lips that pop with pure passion”

Is the motto that comes with the  Pop of Passion lip-oil balms that bareMinerals have launched last summer. They’ve released 8 shades within the range and the color that I picked up is the shade CANDY POP.Pop2

Getting it out there now, I really like this product. Let’s start with packaging, each lip-oil balm comes in these gorgeous bright fun boxes that correspond with the actual products lip shade, which is a small thing but its still a great feature. I know the countless times I’ve selected a shade I like within a lip product, only to come home and find it’s the wrong one because the sales-lady got it mixed up because they’re all packed in the same coloured boxes. So the outer box coming in the shade of the lip product is a great thing for me.

Inside the pretty box, comes the tube of lip-oil balm. I have to say, even though the tube is bright and summery it isn’t all that sturdy. I find that the lid does come off a bit too easily, so I don’t know how this would fair in the constant movement of my purse which is why I’ve been keeping it in it’s original outer box (normally I throw it away the minute I use the lip product).

As I’ve mentioned the shade that I got is CANDY POP and this is your traditional bubblegum, rosie pink shade. The formulation of these is long lasting. When you first apply it, it does give an intense colour pay-off but as you wear it and eat etc,. it does reduce itself down to a stain. I have to say I also found it to be very hydrating and moisturizing on the lips without that typical greasy feeling you can sometimes get with some oil based products.

Initial Application (High Pigmentation)

After A Couple Of Hours (Stain Pigmentation)

As far as I know these lip products are added to the bareMinerals permanent line so there’s no rush to get them. I bought mine for 19 euros but you can get them for cheaper if the store does 10% offers on its beauty products throughout the seasonal months.

That’s it for now guys. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.

Urban Decay MasterClass

Hey guys 🙂 how are things? I’m super excited for this post because it’s something a bit different for my blog than reviews. Like I mentioned in my Urban Decay Summer 2016 New Releases post I was invited to a private viewing of the new releases from Urban Decay. There’s a lot to go through so I’m going to be doing a couple of posts in regards to it and my experience with everything. For this post I’m going to be going through everything that happened at the event. I will follow up with a review post of the items that I purchased I promise :).

The event itself started at 6.30 pm and it took place at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin, Ireland within the Debenhams department store. There were roughly around 9 people invited to the event and much like myself they were also makeup lovers and fans of the Urban Decay makeup line. The entire collection was laid out for us to see upon arrival on this lovely round table that was draped in a cloth with the Urban Decay iconic violet purple colour. We were also given a booklet describing all of the products and the actual look that the make-up artist is planning on doing on the model.

Also on the table were a few other products within the Urban Decay line that the makeup artist planned to use on the model. I will go thorough the entire makeup look that she did on the model in separate blog post to this and in that post I will include all the products that she used on her model. The look she created though is very similar to the look that was created for the poster advertisement of the collection itself.

The great thing about the event was that we got to see each and every product from the collection and also swatch them to feel the texture and formulation of everything. The makeup artist even passed around the extra products she used that weren’t part of the collection for us to look at and to be honest because of that I ended up purchasing the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Deep End which I promise to review with the rest of my purchases.

From the collection itself I ended up purchasing the Naked Skin One and Done and the Afterglow highlighter in Aura. Everything else from the collection was nice but these were the products that really stood out for me. The bronzers within the collection (Sunkissed & Bronzed-Swatched) have this really buttery feel to them and the apply so smooth to the complexion but I found them a bit to warm for my skin tone.

Afterglow Sin

The other two highlighters where as beautiful as Aura. Highlighter number 1-Sin is your typical champagne highlighter that suits more warm skin tones and Highlighter number 2-Fireball  is a toned down version of the eyeshadow in the same name from Urban Decay which I already own so I didn’t feel the need to pick them up. I hated the pencils! No pigmentation to them whatsoever! Didn’t like them at all.

To top of the event we were given a small goodie-bag to go home with along with all of our cheeky purchases but to be honest this post is long enough as it is so I will go through that in another post. Hope this kind of post has interested you guys. I’m gonna post a picture of the finished look below for you to have a sneak peek.
