Deise Dolls Day Goodie Bag! ūüõćÔłŹ

Recently I had the lovely pleasure of attending the DeiseDollsDay Event which was basically a beauty charity event put together by the bloggers of Waterford (also known as DeiseBloggers). On the day we were given very generous beauty goodie bags to take home with us and I thought it would be a good idea to run through it and what I got in it with you guys.

I should probably get the first two products over and done with as both of these are tanning products and I personally don’t use tan at all. I’m very much an embrace the paleness type of gal and so these will most likely go to a friend. If you guys would like reviews on them I’m pretty sure I can get her to guest review them on my blog so do let me know.

The first of the tans is the TanTastic spray on tan and it comes in a nice simple white spray bottle with a popping pink lid. The second on the tans is from TanOrganic and this is a mousse instead of a spray on. Both of these brands I’ve heard great things on their tans but like I said if you would like a review for them I can get my friend to guest write it on here.

One of the many brands sponsoring the event and was present on the day was Tomitago which is an Irish owned skincare brand. I’ll be honest in saying that up until that day I had never heard of this brand but I did get their cleansing oil to try. I both love and hate the packaging in that I love the pump and the metal look of it but because it’s opaque and not see-through than I will have no idea as to when my cleanser is running out.

I got the Ziaja hand cream from there Goat’s Milk range which is also a product I’ve never tried. That said I have tried their hand cream from the Olive range (the one in the green packaging) and absolutely love that one so I’m hoping that this will be the same texture and formulation wise.

I was absolutely delighted when I spotted this Blank Canvas F23 brush as the makeup artist on the day had used it to apply the models foundation and the result was simply flawless. The brush has a nice dense but flexible bristles on it and they angle themselves into a pointed shape making it super handy for getting into the contours of the face.

The Declare Detox Night Cream is an amazing night cream if you’re looking for something to hydrate your skin whilst you sleep. It’s not heavy and it comes in a handy 50ml tube which makes it perfect for travelling and on the go.

As you guys all know one of my favourite brands ever is Essence Cosmetics and to be quite frank I can never have to many products from them. This their smoky eyes set in the shade 01 Smokey Night.

It comes with a useless mini sponge tipped applicator which surprisingly I haven’t lost yet and three super pigmented eyeshadows. There’s a lovely pale silver, a muted grey and a strong shimmery black. Everything you need to create a smoky eye in one single palette.

Two of the NYX Cosmetics Eyebrow Cake Powder sets were included in the goodie bag as well. These are handy little palettes that contain a clear wax for setting the brows and two differing shades of brow powder.

ECP05 Brunette
ECP01 Black/Gray

The palette also comes with a mini spoolie brush which is actually pretty decent and a small angled brush which isn’t.

This is probably the only product from the goodie bag that I have tried enough since getting it to give a decent mini review on. This is the Nia Oat and Avocado Facial Exfoliator and I simply put hate this product. It smells terrible and that aside it feels very sticky on the face. I honestly felt like I had to re-wash my face again after I had used it using a different cleanser. Also it’s terrible for getting makeup off.

Let’s end things on a high note with one of my favourite products from the goodie bag. I have reviewed products from Technic Cosmetics before so I shall link that below but for now this is their Cream Blush & Bronze palette and it’s an 8-pan palette with four blushes and four bronzers

I personally have been using all of these as blushes because I think the bronzers are a bit too warm and have a bit too much orange in them to really be suited as bronzers. That said as blushes they work a dream. Super pigmented and very creamy. Blend beautifully but not over powder (considering it’s a cream that can be expected and hence I don’t really judge it) and they’re not sticky at all once they’re set.

That’s everything that I received in my goodie bag and if you would like me to review a specific item in more detail please let me know and I’ll be happy to do that!

P.S: I received a few Uriage products in my goodie bag too but I’m gonna be reviewing them in a later post so stay tuned

DeiseDollsDay Event

So a few weeks ago I decided to attend the Deise Dolls Day event which is an event that was put together by the bloggers of Waterford for Pieta House which is a charitable society. I found it a great chance both to support charity and to have a day filled will all things beauty.

For the first hour of the event we were treated to a step by step tutorial by Irish Makeup Artist Sammy Stacey. She did a nice smoky bronze eye look using products from Inglot, Makeup Gallery, The Balm & So Sue Me to name a few.

For the second hour we were introduced to the amazing extension hair pieces by Easilocks. The demonstrator showed us how easy it is to simply lift up your own hair and clip in the extension piece for a dramatic difference.

Last hour was very much dedicated to a bit of food and browzing of the pharmacy, Waterford Health Park Pharmacy, were the event was taking place on the day. We were very lucky enough to get gifted a bunch of goodies in a goodie bag on the way out but I think I shall safe that for another post.

Artistry Event

Back at the start of June I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Artistry Press Event up in Dublin at the Morrissons Hotel. This event was a chance for us bloggers to get to know a bit more about the brand and also to be introduced to some new launching products from them. I am no stranger to the brand Artistry and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you would have seen multiple reviews on their products but I shall of course link them below for any new readers.

The event as I said took place in the Morrissons Hotel which is located on the Ormond Quay in Dublin City Centre. The event to be an outdoorsy BBQ style type of thing but living in Ireland we where blessed with rain on the day and so everything had to be moved indoors.

There were tons of amazing treats on the day including non-alcoholic mocktails, finger-food and ICE-CREAM! Yes they had an actual ice-cream cart with over 7 different flavours to choose from.

After a bit of mingling, we were taking into the demonstration room where the skincare expert from the brand took us through a step by step facial using some of the key products from the line like their cleansing, eye gel and moisturiser.

Then the model was given a full natural glam look by the makeup artist Nikki Baker who was amazing at showing use little tricks to achieve the quick look.

The day was overall incredible and now I’m even more excited about the products coming to the Artistry brand in the future. All of Artistry’s products can be purchased directly from Amway’s website.

Primark AW17

I feel like I’ve been neglecting my blog lately and it’s genuinely not on purpose.¬†Since the¬†27th of May it has officially been marked in every¬†Muslim’s calendar that Ramadan, our fasting month, has started. Fasting, along with all my mini errands that I need to complete within the day have had me literally run¬†of my feet. But I think¬†that’s enough excuses, let’s get on to this blog post¬†which is about the amazing time I had in Pennys (Primark)¬†HQ looking at all the amazing new¬†fashions trends which will be hitting the highstreet soon.

Three key colours dictate this years colder seasons and they are Red, Navy and Black. With such bold colours being the centre focus it only makes sense for them to have strong fabrics. Pennys wardrobe for AW17 consists of amazing pleathers, velvets and mesh detailing. I, for one am a huge fan of the pleather pieces within this range. One of my favourite piece from the collection has got to be the leather black jacket. Finally someone made a long one!

Another key piece has got to be this gorgeous velvet pleated navy skirt. I can totally imagine that this piece being a staple in almost every wardrobe. It’s very versatile and can be dressed up and dressed down depending on the mood and occasion. Personally I would dress it up with a pair of gorgeous embroidered boots, which were also key accessories for this season.

It wouldn’t make sense for Pennys to forget the party season and they definitely had some fun pieces to showcase including sequins booties, metallic dresses and gorgeous jewellery.

All in all I had an amazing time visiting the Pennys HQ and I hope this post has inspired you with ideas of what to get for the coming months. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a Pennys haul anytime soon and it will give me an excuse to go shopping!

UDXBasquiat Makeup Look

Yesterday I did a blog post all about my night at the revealing of the Urban Decay Basquiat Collection in Debenhams here in Ireland so if you haven’t read that then it’s just the post before this one. On the night the makeup artist Lisa did a makeup look and for this blog post I’m just going to go through¬†it and steps she took to achieve the finished look.

To begin all of the models makeup was removed with the Urban Decay Prep and Prime Meltdown makeup remover. You simply spray this onto a cotton pad and wipe all over the skin to break down any makeup.

Beginning with the eyes:

  • Eyelids are primed with the Urban Decay Primer Potion in the shade Eden
  • The primer is then set with a thin layer of Urban Decay Pressed Powder
  • Using the shade Enigma from the UDXBasquiat Palette, place all over the eyelid over the primer.
  • The shape of the eyes is then outlined and defined using the second shade from the palette Levitation.
  • The shade 1960 from the Tenant UDXBasquiat Palette is used on the outer corner and blended slightly inwards.
  • Use the shade Neo in the crease area and make sure to blend very well
  • Urban Decay Naked Concealer in the shade Fair Neutral is used to cut the crease by placing it all over the eyelid area only.
  • Over the concealer, the shade Boom was then added.
  • Any harsh lines were then blended out with the shade Neo.
  • The crease area was also defined further with the shade Neo on an angled liner brush.
  • Perversion Urban Decay 24/7 hr eyeliner is used to line the waterline and tightline.
  • Finish off the eyes with Perversion Liquid liner to create a cat flick and Perversion mascara on the lashes.
  • Eyelashes are optional

Any fallout under the eyes can be removed with a wet wipe. She then used the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation for the base. The under eyes, forehead, nose, cupid’s bow and chin area are all highlighted with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in the shade Fair Neutral. The skin is then set with the Urban Decay pressed powder in the shade Translucent.

The complexion was bronzed up, highlighted and blushed using the new UDXBasquiat Blush/Hightlight/Contour palette. The entire look was finished off by lining the lips with Urban Decay 24hr glide on eye pencil in the shade Psychadelic Sister and the lipstick in the shade Jawbreaker. Top the lips with the lip topper in the shade Monarchy and that’s the finished look.

If you guys have any questions about any of the products she used or the steps that were done please leave them below in the comments and I will try my best to answer them.

UDXBasquiat Masterclass

A while ago I did an overview post on the Urban Decay Summer 2017 Collection which featured their collaboration with the artist Jean Michel Basquiat. Recently I had the great opportunity to attend the masterclass for the release of this collection into Debenhams stores here in Ireland.

Before the masterclass began I got a chance to have a look at all the products up close and take a few swatches of some of them. The collection contains two amazingly pigmented eyeshadow palettes, a blush/highlight/contour palette, three eyeliners and three lipsticks.

The masterclass took place in the Waterford Debenhams store and the makeup artist was the beauty blogger Lisa from the blog CuddlesNContouring. She began the masterclass by showcasing some of the Urban Decay Prep and Prime skincare range in order to remove any makeup that the model had on when she arrived. For the actual makeup look she used the UDXBasquiat Tenant Eyeshadow Palette as the main palette though she did use some shades from the Griot Palette also.

I personally didn’t have a huge interest in the palettes as I already have a lot of palettes in my collection and the colours are very dupable in my opinion. I did however have my eye on the eyeliner in the shade Post Punk which is a very sharp lime yellow shade. This looks absolutely stunning on the waterline with any bright eye makeup look.

Tomorrow I will have an entire blog post up with a full description of the make up she used and the steps she took to achieve the complete makeup look for the masterclass so stay tuned for that. I will share that for the final step of the makeup look however  she did use on the new lip toppers on the lips so I knew I just had to pick up one of them for myself.

The shade that I chose is the shade Fever and this is a stunning crimson cranberry shade with a sharp iridescent glitter running through it. These retail for 18.50 euros a piece. I honestly had an amazing time on the night and the collection is definitely¬†a collectors item, it’s so beautiful.

Urban Veda Launch Event

Last¬†Saturday I was lucky enough to attend¬†the launch of the new brand Urban Veda here in Waterford in Shaws Department stores. Urban Veda is a natural skincare brand that prides itself on using only organic ingredients to create it’s products. The range consists of four different skin care regimens and each regimen is tailored depending on ones skin type and skin concerns. Each regimen also has it’s own scent and¬†outer packaging colour so that¬†there’s no need to remember the name of the line or the name of the product but just the colour of it.

The event itself was displayed rather neatly in the centre of¬†Shaws Department near the beauty section. The entire range was aligned on the shelves, which¬†each of the different regimens getting it’s own shelf. They looked so pretty and colourful and to be honest¬†the packaging is one of simplest yet eye-catching packaging that I’ve seen from a skincare brand.

Ciara, the Urban Veda representative was present on the day to explain everything that there is to know about the brand itself. She also explained that all of the products can be used on sensitive skin and acne prone skin. The great thing about this range is that it comes with a do it yourself questionnaire that can be filled out in order to allow you to know which range is best suited to your skin type. The Reviving range is the one that can be used universally however it is rose scented and I know not everyone likes rose.

In total there are four ranges. The Radiance range used Tumeric as it’s active ingredient in order to brighten the¬†complexion as it’s a natural anti-oxidant.

The Soothing range uses sandalwood which is an antimicrobial and an antiseptic. The helps greatly with those of us that suffer with dehydrated and sensitive skin.

The Purifying range uses Neem Oil which has cleansing, toning and moisturising properties which is perfect for use on oil skin types.

As I’ve already mentioned the Reviving range can be used on all skin types as it’s a very nourishing range due to the rose flower water that is in it. Ciara said that she personally tends to recommend this line from Urban Veda for those that have mature skin or are tired. I personally think this line would be amazing for those that are just after having a baby. You can even gift basket the whole range and it would make an amazing baby shower gift.

Urban Veda have also released travel sizes of all there products so I’ve want to get them to try the brand before getting the full size. They also have parcels of their products in which you get three full sized products at a slightly lower price point that if you were to buy them individually.

I got given so many samples of the products on the day from the very generous Ciara and I also picked up the Soothing Hydrating Toner myself to try so I will of course have reviews coming up soon for all those products as soon as I’ve given a proper testing.
