New Releases from Essence Cosmetics

September is over and we’re roughly half way through October (who else is looking forward to halloween?) and it only makes sense for Essence Cosmetics to release a bunch of new products to say hello to the Autumn months. They have launched everything from base products to eyeshadows to beautifully pigmented highlighter palettes and I’m going to be showing you just the face products in today’s post. I will of course be reviewing the other products in upcoming blog posts soon.

First up is my favorite product from the entire release and that’s their Prime+ Studio with black clay Primer. How unique is that?! A primer that not only preps your skin for makeup but also removes any impurities from the skin because black clay is a known ingredient to do that. The primer does come out grey coloured from the tube but fear not as it does go on completely clear on the skin.

To follow on from the primer they’ve also launched quite an extensive range of foundation called #InstaPerfect with I think enough shades to suit almost every skin tone. This foundation does take a bit of getting used too. When I first applied it, I didn’t like it. I found it went on very heavy and streaky. I does have quite a runny texture to it so make sure you shake it up well before hand. I did find out that the many reason why it went on so badly initially was because I was using too much. This foundation really does need to be seen as more of pigmentation drops then foundation. Use a little, mix it with something if you want but don’t use too much and it looks flawless on the skin. I will say that I apply all my foundations regardless of brand with a beauty sponge.

Now it doesn’t really make sense to bring out a foundation range without a matching concealer. The Essence Camoflage Concealer  is the perfect high coverage-but not heavy-concealer for covering those dark under eye circles and breakouts. It has a very hydrating formulation to it and I found that it wore beautifully throughout the day without any creasing.

Last face product I have from the new release of products is the Essence Go For Glow highlighter palette. If you remember my review of their Essence Cosmetics Glow to Go Palette then you’ll know I’m excited for this palette for a very good reason. I found this palette to have a very interesting selection of shades however they translate beautifully on the skin and are very subtle in their shine so don’t let the colour of them put you off.

My only negative comment about this palette is probably the packaging. I personally preferred the plastic acrylic palette packaging that they used for the Glow to Go. For this palette they went with a cardboard palette, which may look pretty but is nowhere near are sturdy as the acrylic.

My next Essence post will feature some the eye products from the release so please make sure to follow via email as to not miss when it goes up.

-Talk Soon xx

  1. Love this post so much, thanks for sharing all your beauty tips. I am obsessing over the primer, I really need to buy one. I am attempting my own wedding make up next year and I need a good primer for my make up to stay on the entire day. xxx

    1. Ah delighted you liked the post-sorry it took so long for me to reply, your comment was marked as spam for some reason. I highly recommend you do your own wedding makeup. I did mine and it looked amazing on the night (if I do say so myself) because you know your facial features and know exactly what you like and what suits you 🙂 on my wedding day I actually used the L’oreal Infallible primer which honest has a similar texture to this primer x
