The title of this blog post might be a tad bit dramatic but it is true non the less. The iconic original Urban Decay Naked Palette is being discontinued. Why Urban Decay have decided to do this?-I have no clue as I personally think this is the palette that started almost every makeup lover’s passion for makeup. It was one of the first palettes on the market to deliver buttery soft eye-shadows that didn’t skimp on pigmentation.
Not only did it pave the way for a new level of makeup but it also set the standard for future packaging goals. Brands such as Anastasia of Beverly Hills and It Cosmetics are still to this day using the gorgeous crushed velvet design of the Naked Palette.
This palette like all the other Naked palettes that came after it, has twelve shades with different finishes. To make up the twelve shades we have one satin (Virgin), 2 Mattes (Naked & Buck) and 9 shimmer shades (Sin, Sidecar, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep & Gunmetal).
The palette also comes with a dual ended brush that is actually usable and not one to throw in the bin. In all honesty if this palette isn’t in your collection already then I recommend it be added.
