Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

These days everybody seems to be in this constant race to review the latest new product launch and while that’s all well and good, it can cause the internet to become slightly over saturated with the same content at the same time. Though I love to try out new products and I have been guilty of marking release dates on my calendar, I do want to take a slight break of sorts from it all to simply step back and review some old favorites that are still purchasable. For today’s post I want to review one of my favorite foundations and that’s Urban Decay’s Naked Skin.

I purchased this foundation way before there was even talk about the development of the newer version which is the All Nighter Foundation. I still haven’t tried the newer version and that’s simply because I’ve always loved this version. Why fix what isn’t broken?. This foundation comes in clear double glassed acrylic bottle that has 30 mls of product in it. You can clear see the colour of the chosen shade through the bottle and it’s also printed on the base. My shade is 0.5 which is also the lightest in the range.

The bottle has a pump which automatically gives it major brownie points as I dislike foundations that come in jars or without a pump. The texture of this foundation is very runny and you do have to give it a good shake before use to ensure that the pigments in it are distributed evenly throughout the foundation’s solution.

On the skin this foundation feels and looks very light, almost like your natural skin minus the spots and pores. Coverage is light but it can definitely be built up to medium with another coat. I did find this foundation to oxidize slightly but that can be fixed by either going a shade lighter, or in my case where there is no lighter, mixing it with a white foundation base.

Price wise this foundation isn’t cheap. retailing at 34.50 euros but like I said it has lasted me quite a while and there’s still quite a lot of it left at least another 6 months worth. A little of this goes along way thanks to the texture of it, it spreads quite nicely.
