Savage Garden

I’ve previously done overview posts using Estee Lauder products, such as the Estee Lauder: Genuine Glow Range and the Estee Lauder Pure Envy Glosses but I’ve never actually reviewed products from the range. Today that’s about the change because I managed to pick up one of the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy glosses from Sam MaCaulay’s Chemist. Sam MaCauleys always has a basket of goodies from the range reduced half price but I never find anything that I’m drawn too until now.

These glosses normally retail for 28 euros a piece but I managed to get mine for 14 euros which is still a lot for a gloss but to be honest the formulation of this gloss is more of a liquid lipstick than a gloss.

Packaging is absolutely flawless in that it’s in this chic acrylic tube that has the Estee Lauder name on the lid embossed into a gold plate. Another great thing about the packaging is that it has a clear part to it where you can see the shade colour of the gloss. The tube is also very Estee Lauder in that it’s in their traditional navy blue shade that they use for most of their products.

The shade that I picked up is called 440 Savage Garden and it’s gorgeous aubergine/dark purple shade that is very similar to Urban decay’s Blackmail only in liquid lip gloss form. The applicator is  similar to a doe-foot except this one has a slight curve to it that hugs the lips.

Pigmentation is super intense, I mean there is no patchiness and no flaking with this product. Once applied this product is going nowhere. I don’t know if that’s because of it’s dark shade or if the general formulation of these glosses but they definitely get a thumbs up in my book. I should also mention that these glosses are super hydrating and don’t cause your lips to dry out like some liquid lipsticks.

I love it when I get a high end product for half it’s price and sometimes lower. Especially when it’s a brand I don’t normally gravitate too.
