Chantecaille Review

When I did my Beauty Haul post I got a comment from a very loyal follower of mine “Carina’s Beauty” asking to review the Chantecaille products that I got and I couldn’t be happier to do it. To review I got three products from the range on the day, the Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser, Chantecaille Total Concealer and the Chantecaille Lip Chic. All of these were hugely reduced for me because I picked them up from a local pharmacy that was having a huge clearance event on their high-end makeup ranges.

Let’s start with the Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser. I picked this up in the shade Alabaster which is the lightest shade that they had available in stores. The product comes in this semi-metalized tube that doesn’t lose it shape when you dispense product. I personally bought this thinking it would be my go to product for the summer because it’s very light on the skin and gives such a natural finish for something that has amazing coverage. Also it contains SPF 15 which of course isn’t a high enough SPF factor for me but it an added bonus.

I said thinking because although it has all these amazing factors about it that I just mentioned I googled it online and found that it retails for 69 euros!!! And I only bought it for ten so I’m saving this for those summer days when I really want to look good. Another great use for this product is that it can be used as a first layer under a medium coverage foundation in order to get that full coverage look without caking makeup on. Because it has a thin consistence and great coverage, it works sort like a tinted primer under foundations. I should mention that instead of this I’m using the No7 Airbrush Away Foundation for my everyday foundation for the summer.

Next up is the Chantecaille Total Concealer, I also got this product in the shade Alabaster which is also the lightest shade they had in the stores. And although it has the same name as the tinted moisturiser it is lighter than it which makes it perfect for use under the eyes. This is a very THICK product! So I do not advise it for those of you who have fine lines or dehydrated skin. I like applying this product with a wet sponge, currently I’m using the one I reviewed in my Complexion Sponge Dupe which I found surprising good for this product because it sheers it out when it’s wet making it not so thick. I love this product an a little bit can go a long way!

Last product out of the range that I bought in my haul is the Chantecaille Lip Chic in the shade Damask. This, I thought initially was going to be a real intense dark vampy berry red (Kinda like Blackmail from Urban Decay). However, these lippies are very sheer in texture and formulation. They are also very hydrating on the lips and don’t smear or bleed out. they aren’t long lasting, 4 hours maybe if you don’t eat. If you do you need to reapply immediately afterwards. The only thing I didn’t like about it was it’s scent. it had this weird musky scent to it and at first I thought I had purchased a gone off lippie but then I smelt a full priced one and it’s just a Chantecaille thing. The smell is gone once you apply, it’s just from the bullet.

Packaging is pretty nifty, gun metal grey in colour and it has a lid that clicks on making it perfect for the handbag, no chance of the lid coming off and making a mess inside your purse. If you guys want me to review anything else from my Beauty Haul then just leave me a comment below and I will certainly do my best to get it up on the blog as soon as I can!
