So on Friday the 3rd (which also happened to be my birthday) I posted my entire Sleek Collection and mentioned in it that I would doing a separate post on the Sleek Barekissed Illuminators. These are Sleek Makeup’s version of a liquid highlighter , if your interested in a powder version from them then check out my Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette review for that.
I own two shades from the range and I believe there are 4 in total. The first of the shades that I’m going to be talking about is the shade 061 Monaco. Let’s start with packaging first. These products come in a very sturdy frosted glass bottle that comes with a pump! Very Important feature 🙂 I won’t lie it’s not the lightest thing to travel with however the bottle does have very thick glass so I’m not really worried about it breaking anytime soon. I mentioned that it does come with a pump and the great thing is the pump is detachable in case you want to pour out a large amount of the product.
The shade 061 Monaco is the lightest of all the shades. It’s a very icy champagne shade that’s perfect for either applying as primer underneath foundation or mixing it in with your foundation. At least that’s how I like to use it, it can be used on its own on the tops of the cheekbones/bridge of the nose/cupids bow if that’s what you want to use it for. These highlighters I will mention as very intense in pigmentation and have a real strobing effect on the skin so if you’re looking for the natural highlighter look -stay away!
The second shade that I own is 062 Casablanca and this is true to it’s name a very romantic shimmered pink. Because it’s pink I really like using this on the cheek area rather than for highlighting. I basically apply this like I would a cream blush. It gives a very natural dewy look to the skin that is very pretty. Formulation wise these are very thick in consistency, almost mousse like in texture which to be honest makes them easier to apply.
These retail for 11.99 euros each and I picked mine up from Boots. I currently have my eye on the shade 064 Pompeii which is a intense shimmer gold which I think will look stunning under yellow based foundations. If I do pick that up I will post swatch images.
