I can’t tell you guys how excited I am that I’m finally doing this post! I’ve been waiting so long to go to the Urban Decay counter at Debenhams and pick it up. It’s everything I hoped it would be and more 🙂 (I’m having ones of those “My Precious” moments from Lord of the Rings). If you guys are interested in a tutorial using this palette then I recommend you check out my Alice through the looking Glass Walkthrough post which has a complete tutorial for this palette.
First of all the packaging is oh my god out of this world beautiful. The outer box has this really cool kaleidoscope effect that seems to be a theme through the entire collection. I normally consider boxes to be rubbish for this palette I’ll have to keep it, no way can I throw it out. If you rub your hands across the actual box you can actual feel the different effects of the scope because some of it is raised, almost like an indent from the box.
When you pull out the palette from the box you’ll notice that it has the same design as the box it comes in on the front. When you open it up using the flap the first thing to comment on is that there is a mirror included in the palette. Plus it has this cool little quote written on it “We’re All Mad Here”. The area that opens up like a book to reveal the really pretty 3D Butterfly also has a quote “I’m not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours” To be honest I love all the quotes that they’ve chosen to decorate the palette with, their all very relatable.
The eyeshadows themselves slide out of the palette in a drawer like way. The drawer also has a quote which says “I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I must have changed several times since then” . So cute! The formulation of the eyeshadows is absolutely brilliant. They are butter soft and so creamy to apply. They blend perfectly and don’t crease or have any fallout to them what so ever. Pigmentation is spot on even with the lighter shades, nothing is chalky nor powdery.
The palette also comes with a dual ended brush. One side is longer and fluffier than the other which is great for blending and applying the eyeshadows. The bristles are soft and I’ve already spot cleaned it and it cleans like a dream. Really good quality.
The shades themselves are chosen so well. If you guys are interested in the format of the eyeshadows then check out my UD Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection post. Now here comes the fun bit. I’ve taken an image of every single shade in the palette in order for you guys to have a look at individual swatches. Review wise I’m done, its an amazing palette, I give it 10/10 and totally recommend you pick it up as soon as you can!
