Don’t you just hate it when you buy something, expecting it to be absolutely amazing only for it to turn out not to be! It’s like “There’s that fiver gone down the drain” feeling which isn’t the nicest feeling one can have. I bought these two eye pencils from Urban Decay and those of you who have been reading my posts know I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay, especially cause I blogged about both their Urban Decay Summer 2016 New Releases and their Urban Decay MasterClass, however these weren’t the best products that I’ve ever purchased from this line. The pencils in question are the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils and I bought one in the colour Sin and the other in the colour Clash.
I am going to comment on the packaging and say how totally uncool it is-I know they’re pencils but come on, Urban Decay are known for they’re amazing packaging and even their regular eye pencils have better packaging than these jumbo things 😦 totally not happy. However the product itself for the pencil in the colour Sin isn’t actually half bad.
I actually own the eyeshadow of this colour and I absolutely love that especially for highlighting the inner corner of the eye and the pencil when compared to the eyeshadow, the eyeshadow would win hands down. That being said the pencil is pretty handy for on the go purposes, it gives good pigmentation and has the same brightening effect that the eyeshadow does making it an okay product in my book.
Next is the pencil I wish I had never laid eyes on and I really really wish I had never bought!! Looking at it from the outside, again the packaging is terrible, but the colour of it is absolutely breath-taking. I love the coolness of the blue and the added sparkle that surrounds the colour making it rather unique in my eyes.
But the product itself is just horrible, the pigmentation goes on chalky, the glitter in it is so big it literally flakes of the minute you put it on and not to mention the fact that its so big you can feel it like grains of sand on your eyes. Yeah the colour is great but it does not last 24/7 even with an eye primer, it lasts like 30 minutes at best.
This hands down was a DUD product for me and as far as I’m concerned I will be staying away from these jumbo pencils from Urban Decay in the future especially the ones that have glitter in them. Have any of you tried these and if you have what do you think of them? Let me know in the comments section below.
